Position: Staff DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

   As a Staff DevOps Engineer, you will be leading the implementation and maintenance of DevOps practices including designing, automation, orchestrating continuous integration and deployment, driving technical innovation across the DevOps lifecycle. You will be designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to automate cloud deployments, optimize performance, and ensure security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust DevOps infrastructure, including cloud platforms, containerization technologies, and orchestration tools. Architect and implement cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud.
  • Automate and manage cloud environments using IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. Evaluate and implement new DevOps tools and technologies to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Design and build robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, code integration, and deployment processes. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth application delivery.
  • Build and architect Cloud environments following a shift left approach to security and cost optimization.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure for security and performance. Participation in Production Oncall Support, Incident and Change management.
  • Follow cloud vendor recommended best practices across managed environments and participate in periodic internal and external infrastructure audits. Perform vulnerability management processes across managed cloud environments.
  • Work closely with application teams and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth collaboration. Drive architectural discussions and influence technical decisions to streamline and simplify our infrastructure.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Implement cost management strategies to optimize cloud spending and ensure efficient resource utilization.

General IT Responsibilities

  • Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on cloud technologies and Cloud best practices.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional support to end-users.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience managing AWS or GCP Cloud environments.
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployment tools, including Jenkins, Git, or Ansible
  • Experience with security and vulnerability management across large scale cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation for infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell), Terraform, CloudFormation for automation tasks.
  • Experience with Linux Operating systems like Redhat, CentOS, Amazon Linux
  • Other Tools: Grafana, Splunk, Prometheus
  • Multi-Cloud Management: Experience managing multiple cloud platforms.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional).
