Meet the Team:

Dexcom’s Security Operations (SecOps) team is on the front lines of protecting our global environment — monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats 24/7. As part of the broader Information Security organization, we are a highly collaborative group who are passionate about defending Dexcom’s data, infrastructure, and users. Whether it’s responding to an active incident, fine-tuning detection logic, or supporting red/purple team exercises, our team plays a crucial role in reducing risk across the enterprise.

As a Staff Cybersecurity Analyst, you’ll be a technical leader and go-to expert — trusted to take on high-impact investigations, elevate our detection capabilities, and mentor others. You’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with teams in cloud security, engineering, and compliance while making meaningful contributions to Dexcom’s overall security posture.

Where You Come In:

  • Continuously oversee security alerts and events to detect and assess potential threats to the organization's networks and systems.​
  • Lead the investigation and response to security incidents, coordinating with cross-functional teams to contain and remediate threats promptly.​
  • Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and trends, integrating this knowledge into proactive defense strategies.​
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify vulnerabilities, collaborating with relevant teams to prioritize and remediate findings.​
  • Maintain detailed records of incidents, analyses, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management and stakeholders.​
  • Evaluate and enhance existing security processes and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.​
  • Work closely with IT, compliance, and other departments to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive security posture.

What Makes You Successful:

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles with a focus on security operations, incident response, or threat analysis.​
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies such as SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.​
  • Deep understanding of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and how to defend against them.
  • Ability to analyze complex data to identify patterns, anomalies, and indicators of compromise.​
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.​
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or GIAC certifications.​
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Travel Required:

  • This position provides flexibility to work either from the San Diego, CA office or remotely. Occasional travel may be required for training and collaboration with teams in other locations.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Master’s degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.

$128,600.00 - $214,400.00
