Job Description:
Are you an engineer who has a desire to design and implement architecture, tools and governance for our CI/CD systems running in a multi-cloud environment? We continuously monitor operational system performance and drive refinements to reduce complexity, increase reliability, and match timeliness with efficient costs.
Your role will involve system design, tools and process governance, operations, reliability, and security aspects of both the environment Maxar's CI/CD environment runs on (implemented primarily in AWS), and the SaaS and local tools that make up our CI/CD environment (Artifactory, GitHub, GitLab, and more).
You will be responsible for designing, and coding in our Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) environment using Terraform (all our environments, tools and services are built from code), and continuously researching ways to make it more secure, more stable, and more efficient.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and contribute to solving various issues in production environments.
- Coordinate the deployment of various software tools to minimize customer impact.
- Proactively analyze and propose improvements to our overall environment and toolsets.
- Propose and design more effective monitoring and alerting for production services.
- Integrate with Development teams to understand unfulfilled requirements and needs.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be willing and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
- 4 years of software or infrastructure engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. 6 additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- 7+ years experience with GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory , or equivalent CI/CD technologies.
- 7 + years experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, or other).
- 5 + years experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker.
- Ability to be on call on a rotating basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years Linux system experience.
- Experience using a wide variety of open-source technologies
- Experience with administration and using GitHub, GitLab, Artifactory, Vault
- Experience with Terraform or Cloudformation .
- Experience with Microservice Architecture or SOA.
- Familiarity with Agile development process from build through deployment.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $119,000.00 - $199,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
