Summary
The candidate should be an entrepreneurial and open-minded individual with a desire to contribute to a fast-paced, growing company. The candidate will report directly to the Accounting Manager of the Bank and be expected to lead, take ownership of his/her areas of responsibility and ensure accurate and timely completion of company reporting requirements.
Responsibilities

  • Posting daily and monthly entries to the general ledger
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
  • Assist with the month end and year end close.
  • Maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Researching and assist with inquiries and requested information in a timely manner.
  • Apply knowledge of Excel to analyze financial data, create models.
  • Continuously seek ways to streamline accounting processes, workflows.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting within the banking industry.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a major in accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Other qualifications include:
    • Self-Starter
    • Detail-oriented
    • Multi-tasking
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office with a proficient excel spreadsheet aptitude.
