Description:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for ETL administrating Control-M. The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and running job scheduling and data automation that aligns with business objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of Control M architecture, customization, and integration, along with strong development skills to build and maintain complex Control-M environments. The ideal candidate will play a key role in guiding Control-M's strategy and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. Also, the candidate should understand both Azure and AWS Cloud Solutions related to managing and monitoring databases and related services.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the SME for Control-M as expert, evangelist, trainer, and administrator

  • Monitoring, investigate, correct, and reduce broken pipeline workflows.

  • Ensure that the ETL batch cycle process operates efficiently.

  • Curate robust solutions around data workflow management.

  • Expand the data governance around exception handling and reporting to relevant stakeholders to minimize “time to correction”

  • Facilitate the smooth transition of Operations, Research, and Sales projects from dev to production.

  • Enforce proper execution of the daily delivery of files to external and internal FTP stakeholders, ensuring the appropriate destination.

  • Ensure timely delivery of monthly and quarterly reporting suites.

  • Assume various DBA responsibilities to serve an expanding user base.

  • Coordinate with other departments to facilitate new SLAs and enhance existing ones with respect to requirements gathering and end-to-end workflow creation, deployment, and as-needed troubleshooting.

Qualifications required

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with demonstrated capability in distributed computing technologies, ETL, query performance optimization, and modern SDLC methods

  • Linux System administration experience.

  • 3+ year's experience administering Control-M, including upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting

  • Passion for building and improving data pipelines that are performant, easy to maintain, and consistently deliver high-quality data products

  • Experience working in a cloud infrastructure environment and using various data warehouse and big data systems

Qualifications preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or commensurate experience in a related field.

  • 2+ year's experience with orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, AWS Step function, Airflow, Control-M, etc. (preference Azure Data Factory/Synapse)

  • Some exposure/experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, QlickView, IBM Cognos analytics or Business Objects (preference Power BI)
