We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior / Semi Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to handle a range of tax and social security-related tasks. This position requires excellent communication skills in English (at least upper-intermediate level) and proficiency in Excel. Candidates must reside in Mexico, preferably in Guadalajara, with the possibility of attending the office a few times per month.
Responsibilities
- Perform accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Calculate and file taxes, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Handle the submission of tax reports and resolve related queries.
- Manage social security processes such as employee registrations and terminations with IMSS (Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social).
- Provide accurate and timely support for audits and financial reviews.
- Maintain organized records and ensure data accuracy in accounting systems.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a public accounting firm.
- Fluent in English, with at least an upper-intermediate level.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in tax calculation, tax filing, and IMSS processes.
- Must reside in Mexico, preferably in Guadalajara, with availability to attend the office a few times per month.
Nice to have
- Experience with US accounting laws and practices.
- Fluency in French is highly desirable.
