Business Operations is the glue of DE&E Technology, with a relentless focus on connecting all the pieces of the business. All the components that make up the organization - engineering, product, design, operations, support and more - come together and move the business forward with oversight, effective prioritization, and guidance. This team synthesizes information from across the business to ensure leaders are armed with all the necessary data before making strategic and financial decisions. From forecasting, funding, tracking, and reporting, to ways of working, and resource management, Business Operations has visibility and input into all aspects of the team.
Responsibilities:

  • Drive deliverables for the live and VOD Processing and Packaging Services team.
  • Manage technology activities using Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Work with multiple technical teams and Product groups to build, test, and deploy services.
  • Drive cross-team programs, working closely with engineering and project leads, architects, and product managers.
  • Deliver using Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology processes, tools, and methodologies.


Key Duties:

  • Orchestrate team ceremonies and contribute to positive team dynamics.
  • Call and run meetings to actionable outcomes.
  • Document decisions and notes professionally and timely.
  • Manage releases and balance task priorities across projects.
  • Solve complex problems in a dynamic environment.
  • Communicate transparently with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Influence key decision-makers towards new business processes and technical solutions.


Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing complex software development projects.
  • Talent for leading virtual meetings with distributed teams.
  • Expertise with project management tools like Confluence, JIRA, Smartsheet, Airtable.
  • Proficiency in Agile Project Management methods, including Scrum and/or Kanban.


Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of distributed application software development life cycle.
  • Experience with video processing and media streaming technologies.
  • Understanding of content distribution network (CDN) technologies.


Required Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $126,400 to $169,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
