STV is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Owings Mills, MD. You’ll work alongside some of the most talented minds in transportation design, gaining exposure to a wide variety of structural projects and playing a key role in transforming concepts into reality.
What You’ll Do:

Design and analyze new and existing bridges, retaining walls, culverts, sign structures, and other transportation-related structures

Support bridge rehabilitation efforts and load rating calculations

Produce construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates

Conduct and support bridge condition inspections (highway and rail transit)

Prepare inspection and structural evaluation reports
-
Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs
-
Contribute to constructability reviews and quality assurance

Prepare Quality Control documentation and assist in proposal development

Support Design-Build pursuits and construction engineering packages

Share expertise and mentor junior staff
What You Bring:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred)

13+ years of experience in structural design and analysis (steel, concrete, pre-stressed concrete, timber)
-
Proficiency in design software such as Midas, LARS, MDX, STAAD, CSi Bridge, Leap Bridge, AASHTOWARE, and PennDOT tools
-
Experience with MicroStation (preferred) and/or AutoCAD
-
Maryland PE License (or ability to obtain quickly)

Familiarity with Maryland agencies (MDTA, SHA, or MTA) is a plus
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with bridge management tools (InspectTech, ASIR) a plus

Certified Bridge Safety Inspection (CBSI) Certification (preferred)

Willingness and ability to perform fieldwork, including climbing and working at heights

Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
Compensation Range:
$106,908.24 - $142,544.33
