Overview:
F5’s Service Provider Business Unit is on the hunt for a forward-thinking Sr Solution Architect to spearhead the next wave of innovative product and partner integrations. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in creating “1+1=3” outcomes—delivering synergistic solutions that not only satisfy, but enhance the business, technical, operational, functional, and system requirements of our customers and ecosystem partners.
Key elements of the role include:
- Strategic Integration Leadership: Partner with industry leaders such as NVIDIA, AWS, Azure, Oracle, Supermicro and more to architect and implement cutting-edge integrations that bridge Telco (mobile and fixed) and IT networking technologies. Your efforts will ensure we meet not only the technical demands of our partners, but also their broader business and operational objectives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with a multitude of stakeholders—from product management and engineering, partners and technology providers to the F5 customer account teams—to elicit, analyze, and translate complex requirements into cohesive, customer-centric solutions. Your aptitude for merging diverse inputs into synergistic architectures will be crucial.
- Articulation of Value: Develop, document, and present detailed solution proposals that articulate everything from technical architecture to risk profiles, cost structures, timelines, and resource needs. You’ll be equally comfortable engaging with technical experts and executive decision-makers, ensuring that the business case for each solution is clear and compelling at every level.
- Delivering Comprehensive Solutions: Your integrated proposals will detail the technical underpinnings and business advantages of our proposed solutions—including robust technical architecture plans and detailed descriptions—and laying out the clear pathway from concept to operational reality.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for the establishment of architectures and solutions for F5’s Hyperscaler, Telecoms customers together with product management and development and with key technology partners
- Engage with partners and prime SI’s on assessing, analyzing and documenting the clients’ business and operational requirements
- Formulate creative and unique solutions leveraging the capabilities of accelerated computing, cloud and communications technologies from F5 and our ecosystem partners
- Set up and participate in collaboration teams within cross functional stakeholders, both inside F5 and with partner companies or prime system integrators
- If necessary, propose and participate in solution prototyping and proof of concepts
- Document requirements, risks, costs, design, dependencies, and implementation overview for integration to proposals, statements of work with partners
- Influence changes to standards or product development when necessary.
- Direct the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, partner solutions, or teaming options to increase probability of customer selection based on business requirements, functionality, and total cost of ownership.
- Collaborate with F5 functional departments (Office of the CTO, product management, CISO, system and field engineering, strategic alliances, and support) to incorporate both current and planned F5 technologies, products and solutions into proposals.
- Participate and assist in the preparation of solution whitepapers and proposals
What you’ll bring:
- BS/BA or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years related industry experience
- Relevant certifications, a plus
- Basic F5 product knowledge or experience in relevant industry offerings
How you’ll do it:
- Experience with working with public cloud and cloud native platforms
- Knowledge of the underpinning hardware technologies/architectures for accelerated computing, AI and telecom such as GPU’s (Graphics Processing Units), FPGAs, DPU’s or Data Processing Units
- A Plus in proficiency in AI and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow and Pytorch
- Cloud/Hyperscaler (IaaS, PaaS) and telecom infrastructure (3GPP technologies like 5G, 6G) competence and experience
- Understanding of secure network design and how to adapt them for AI-native environments (Application delivery, L4-L7 security, optimization)
- Technically creative and open-minded
- Demonstrated capacity for lifetime learning in areas of complex technology, systems and solutions
- Excellent oral and written communication for both technical and C-level audiences
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability

- While we encourage remote/virtual meetings, the nature of the role could require travel up to 30-40% of the time, and working across time zones

The annual base pay for this position is: $190,720.00 - $286,080.00
