Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for talented Dotent Full Stack Developers to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for new development and enhancements of our insurance quoting and purchasing software. We use the best of Agile Scrum and Kanban methodologies to deliver high quality software applications that revolutionize the global business of insurance.
We are growing our team in the UK and are looking for dynamic developers who are passionate about delivering clean, well-written, enterprise scale applications developed using sound software principals.
What You Will Do• Ability to complete all developer-level duties, including creating, maintaining, and modifying code, as well as developing and improving coding standards and procedures• Working in an Agile team to implement solutions which focus on re-use, extensibility, and maintainability• Working closely with peer developers and QA team members to ensure that user stories are delivered as a team• Working with peer DevOps staff to ensure application and technical infrastructure designs are compatible• Understanding business objectives and suggesting strategies to meet them through technology innovation
What You Will Need To Be Successful• Must Haves:
o At least 3 years' experience with C# or VB.Net, SQL Server and Visual Studio
o At least 2 years' experience with HTML, CSS, React and Visual Studio Code
o At least 1 years' experience with a backend unit testing framework, and TDD practices
o Desire to be involved in both front-end, and back-end development
o Excellent problem-solving skills, strong logical reasoning and is solution oriented
o Advocate for pragmatic quality practices such as TDD, peer review processes, coding standards etc.
o Genuine passion for programming
o Ability to work with others in a team-oriented, and supportive, environment
o Has contributed to improvements on development tasks in previous roles
o Familiar with the SDLC and CI/CD practices
o Able to communicate and document clearly and effectively
o Experienced with code reviews
o Strong working mindset and professional attitude
o Team player• Desired skills (but not required):
o Experienced, or trained in, Agile Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies using Jira, Azure DevOps or a related development work management tool
o Experienced with GCP
o Ideally educated to degree level (BSc or BEng) or equivalent in Computer Science or a related discipline
