JOB DESCRIPTION: Duck Creek Technologies LLC seeks a Sr. Software Engineer (Integrations)– P&C Insurance based out of our office at 1441 Main Street, Suite 400, Columbia, SC 29201. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position may require national/domestic travel up to 10% of the time. This is a Sr. Manager Level Role involving Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance software applications and their integrations with third-party vendors. S/he will act as a technical lead for project team(s) or a solution or conformance review in the development of Agile stories. His/Her responsibilities will include the design, coding and/or configuring solutions for high complexity Agile stories across multiple domains or platform areas, and the creation of a conceptual design/architecture for large scale software solutions. The individual will provide guidance and mentoring to more junior software engineers. S/he will debug and resolve high complexity software bugs or issues, work independently, and find the real root cause and provide a fix without collateral damage. S/he will write automated unit and integration-level tests under his/her own direction, and s/he will follow development standards and effectively demonstrate technical solutions to other developers in code reviews.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: The position of Sr. Software Engineer (Integrations) – P&C Insurance requires a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, (Applied) Computer Science, Computer Applications, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The position also requires 12 years of progressively-responsible, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, as a Software Engineer, or a related IT/computer position.
Additionally, the applicant must have the following number of years of professional experience with each of the following:
- 1) 12 years: Using Object-oriented design, Java or .NET development, Relational OLTP queries and Relational database design;
- 2) 8 years: Developing and implementing P&C Insurance software applications;
- 3) 12 years: Using XML/XSLT document design, JavaScript development, HTML5 & CSS;
- 4) 8 years: Serving as a leader with respect to an insurance industry domain software development team;
- 5) 8 years: Developing and implementing Web APIs;
- 6) 5 years: Implementing system integrations between core P&C systems (Policy, Billing, and Claims) with external third-party partners and delivery accountability for architectural and non-functional requirements, including CI/CD, performance, scalability, and maintainability;
- 7) 5 years: Developing and supporting integrations running in an enterprise integration platform (such as TIBCO, MuleSoft, Azure API Management); and
- 8) 5 years: Supporting integrations, in a 24*7 production environment, between P&C core systems and third-party insurance vendors, including at least 2 of the following: LexisNexis; Verisk; POLK; Hyland OnBase; Precisely; AssureSign.
