WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Our positions in Monterrey are hybrid roles enabling our team to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remotely. Our office space in Monterrey was designed to promote collaboration for our scrum teams and increase our development velocity. In addition, you'll enjoy a great view of the city, fresh coffee, and the occasional happy hour.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Nymbus is looking for an experienced Sr Python Developer to join our agile squad and develop the front and backend of our enterprise applications, as well as integrations. The position of Sr Python Developer combines technical experience, analytical abilities, and sound coding skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Expertise in Python and JavaScript: The candidate must be capable of learning and maintaining existing system components developed in Python and JavaScript, with the objective of modernizing and improving these components over time.
- Product development: The candidate must be able to work closely with distributed team members to deliver well thought out, configurable, high quality, scalable solutions used across our bank and credit union clients.
- Strong understanding of database schemas, data modeling, and database design principles: Candidates must demonstrate expertise in relational (and optionally non-relational) database concepts to programmatically maintain data layer consistency between environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and Database Scripting: Strong skills in writing and optimizing SQL queries and scripts are essential.
- Knowledge of Source Control Management (SCM) systems: Candidates should be familiar with SCM tools like Git, SVN, or Mercurial, particularly in the context of managing database schema versions.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines: A solid understanding of CI/CD principles and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) in relation to database deployments is required.
- Familiarity with ORM tools: Knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping tools (e.g., Hibernate, Entity Framework, Sequelize) is advantageous but not essential.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Programing Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a Python and JavaScript development role.
- Proven understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, SCSS, HTML5, XML, and/or Ajax.
- Experience in Programmatic Management of Databases:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in database management and architecture.
- Candidates should have knowledge of database design, database query languages, and automated management of the data layer.
- Team Work:
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written) is a must.
- Positive attitude, willing to learn, build relationships, solve problems and contribute.
- Able to maintain a strong work ethic in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment
- Experience and preference for working with a distributed team.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- 80,000 - 105,000 MXN
