Job Description:
We are looking for a Sr Project Manager who will supervise the Resource Operations Team (Resource Management and Resource Vendor Management teams) and work with different functions to help implement and execute resource management, capacity planning and resource vendor management processes for Sun Life Global Solutions and the markets.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
People Management
- Manage a team who will support the resource management, capacity planning and resource vendor management.
Resource Planning and Management
- Match and fulfill project demands with the right resources in a timely fashion
- Execute optimal demand fulfillment and hiring strategies that align with company goals and financial targets
- Monitor resource billability and ensure optimal utilization and assign bench / idle resources to billed work within a set timeframe
Vendor Management and Sourcing
- Seek manpower vendors who can help fulfill the capacity/demand plans of the organization and recommend potential long-term partnerships
- Facilitate the onboarding of selected vendor partners
- Maintain vendor information and perform regular assessments
- Maintain business relationships with partner vendors to ensure effectivity and efficiency of manpower sourcing
- Facilitate sourcing of consultants from partner vendors
- Provide support during onboarding and engagement with consultants
Reporting and Analysis
- Utilize data-driven insights to optimize workforce planning strategies and make informed staffing decisions
- Perform trend and variance analysis and maintain and/or keep track of key metrics, and recommend and implement actions to address any issues
- Create concise and effective reports for management reviews
Process Improvement
- Monitor and review the resource management, capacity planning and resource vendor managements processes to help identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and programs
Stakeholder Communication
- Collaborate with human resources, delivery/project managers, finance, talent development, and business excellence to meet key success metrics
Training and Support
- Drive and promote the effective use of workforce management tools and provide support to stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
- 13 to 15+ years of overall work experience
- Overall 10+ years of experience in resource management, capacity planning and/or resource vendor management
- At least 10 years of experience working in the IT industry
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience leading medium to large strategic/business projects in functional/matrix environment is an advantage
- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive team player with ability to forge stakeholder partnerships and to influence decision-making
- Solid communication and presentation skills, and proficient in MS Office applications to prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation
- Effective time management skills to prioritize and multi-task
- Self-motivated and agile, able to quickly adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience with Planview and Workday tools is a plus
