Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is:

$137,800 - $145,000

Job Summary

Purple is seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of key projects within our Corporate Strategy team. As a key player in both the planning and execution of our company's larger business initiatives, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading high-impact projects that drive Purple’s strategic goals and support long-term growth, particularly within the Wholesale channel.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading project teams, managing project lifecycles, and ensuring the delivery of projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a strategic mindset, with the ability to shape project plans that align with and further the company’s overall strategy
This role requires a proactive leader with excellent communication and critical thinking skills, strong stakeholder management abilities, and a proven track record of driving project success in dynamic environments. The successful candidate will effectively manage multiple cross-function projects at a time, demonstrating a passion for driving project success, a commitment to excellence, and a collaborative mindset.Job Description

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, from project initiation to closure, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies, timelines, and quality standards. 

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements, and risk mitigation strategies, in collaboration with key stakeholders. 

  • Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to support project execution, including project team members, external vendors, and other stakeholders, to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget. 

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and proactively identify and address potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or quality standards. 

  • Facilitate regular project meetings, including kick-off meetings, status updates, and stakeholder meetings, to communicate project objectives, progress, and key decisions to project team members and stakeholders. 

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, vendors, and clients, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports, to provide transparency and accountability to project stakeholders. 

  • Prepare and present regular project status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics to the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team, management, and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, risks, and areas for improvement. 

  • Builds and manages multiple, multi-functional collaborative project and/or work teams. Coordinates the activities of multi-functional teams, as well as the project budget, task dependencies and schedule. 

  • Lead postmortem sessions for completed projects, guiding participants through structured discussions to analyze project successes, failures, and lessons learned. 

 

 

Skills/Knowledge Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, business administration, or organizational development. Advanced degree preferred. 

  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban). 

  • Project Management Professional designation (PMI) Certification and/or PMP preferred. 

  • Ten years of experience leading large, diverse and often complex projects is required. 

  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects with budgets in excess of $1MM is required. 

  • High level of emotional intelligence, executive presence, and the ability to influence C-level executives is required. 

  • Experience working with process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean preferred. Experience managing projects with multiple project teams, product development lifecycle, or quality lifecycle. Experience with PM methodologies and software. 

  • Ability to effectively present and gather information at PM meetings. 

  • Ability to translate conceptual thinking into project definitions and requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage projects with multiple project teams, product development lifecycle, or quality lifecycle. 

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, prioritize work, manage time and respond effectively to a rapidly changing environment. 

  • Ability to exercise sound political and environmental judgment as appropriate to support successful project implementation. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessing and mitigating risks through risk planning. record, practice management, financial management. 

  • Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall PM methodologies. 

  • Delivery using iterative methodology and standard tools and processes.
