As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
- Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Java (11/17), Maven, GIT, Python
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment strategies
- Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem for data processing , RESTful APIs, GraphQL
- Experience in architecture and design of microservices
- Cloud Development (e.g. AWS, Cloud Foundry, etc.)
- Proficient in managing large database and modern data stack
- Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines. Understanding and experience building cloud native and distributed applications
- Working proficiency in SDLC practices - CI/CD, SRE. Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture. Proficiency in one or more modern programming language. Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- SQL, Spring Data. NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.)
- Messaging (e.g. SQS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc). Data Lake/Mesh & Analytics Technology (e.g. Snowflake, Starburst, Databricks, Denodo etc.). Domain-driven design
- Other programming languages (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, etc). Open table format (e.g. Iceberg, Hudi, Delta)
- Metadata Management. Contract-Driven Development
- Data Lineage tools. AI/ML and Data science skills
