Sr. Manager, EHS - East

Location: The candidate can be located at any of the following facilities: Simsbury, CT, Webster, MA, Ravena, NY, Hammonton, NJ, Taneytown, MD, King Of Prussia, PA, Chambersburg, PA, Mt. Dora, FL, Homestead, FL
The candidate in this role will be required to travel up to 50% of the time to other facilities. 

Who You Are:

As the Sr. Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), you will lead the execution of Curaleaf’s EHS strategy at the facility level, ensuring alignment with both local regulations and the company’s global EHS policies and procedures. In this key leadership position, you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving site-specific EHS programs that foster a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment. You will play a vital role in protecting the well-being of our team members, enhancing operational efficiency, and driving the overall success of the facility. This position reports directly to the Site Operations Director.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the implementation of the facility’s Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) program, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DEP, and other authorities), as well as Curaleaf’s EHS policies and procedures.
  • Establish and enforce site-specific EHS policies aligned with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational goals.
  • Conduct proactive risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental impacts.
  • Manage and oversee EHS audits, inspections, safety reporting, and regulatory documentation to maintain a compliant and safe workplace.
  • Design and deliver comprehensive EHS training programs to promote awareness, reduce risk, and foster a strong safety culture across the organization.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders for all EHS-related matters.
  • Oversee the facilities management function, ensuring efficient operation, maintenance, and compliance of all physical assets, including buildings, equipment, and utilities.
  • Ensure that facilities meet all safety codes, environmental regulations, and organizational operational standards.
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness and contingency plans for fire, natural disasters, and other critical incidents.
  • Collaborate closely with corporate EHS leadership and site management to identify, assess, and mitigate operational and environmental risks.
  • Lead the development and execution of the annual EHS action plan for the site, including tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Actively participate in the broader Group EHS network to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, Compliance, or a related field, preferably within a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Deep understanding of OSHA, EPA, DEP, and other relevant local, state, and federal regulations, with a strong grasp of industry best practices.
  • Proven success in leading EHS programs and overseeing facility operations with a focus on compliance, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage organizational change and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence team members at all levels.
  • Experience developing and delivering effective EHS training programs.
  • A proactive, curious, and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to persuade and motivate others.
  • Highly autonomous, adaptable, and pragmatic in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A commitment to upholding ethical standards and aligning with the company’s core values.
  • Ability to travel ~50% of the time.

  • OSHA Certification
  • Previous experience in food processing, beverage processing or manufacturing environments

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, use hands to finger or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.

This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

This position has allergen warnings, exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens, and requires the use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits, as necessary, has exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms, has exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels, requires high-stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility, as well as the ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
