Position Summary
Aetna Health is transforming health insurance and wellness via digital software products that enable a best-in-class self-service experiences and member engagement. This team is responsible for the development of road maps to meet Aetna’s digital strategies and operational imperatives as well as execution of the roadmap capabilities. Aetna Health uses the latest design approaches, technologies, and processes.
As a Senior Healthcare Product Manager /Product Owner within the Healthcare Benefits (HCB), you will be accountable for delivering a complex, end to end integration products that enable our members to successfully complete self-service tasks. Your work will directly impact Aetna’s digital first goals and contribute to an overall reduction in phone calls from our members for routine inquires. To achieve this, you will have a unique role as a product owner, responsible for leading a server team; and a product manager and creating a member self-service digital end to end journeys that leverage A.I. ; are easy, transparent, and cohesive. You will do this through:
Product Backlog Ownership, User Story Development, and Prioritization in an Agile/ Safe environment
- Responsible for aligning roadmaps, backlogs, capacity, timelines, and commitments across the respective product areas needed to deliver.
- Facilitates agile ceremonies & meetings, including PI Planning, in partnership with the product leadership team.
- Define epics, features and partner with respective product managers and engineers to define user stories, identifies dependencies, and works with teams to size ahead of future quarters.
- Ensures that incremental learnings from product delivery are prioritized in the backlog.
- Lead the server engineering team to success by working across groups to drive discussion & engagement, create & track user stories in a SAFe/Agile framework.
Product Value, Cross-Functional Leadership, and Stakeholder Management
- Sets the direction and provides continuous feedback for discovery work, ensuring that the product team is focused on continuous exploration.
- Understands market and customer needs through partnership with business & customer insight teams.
- Accountable for showcasing the product teams’ delivery and final output to stakeholders.
- Interface and partners with Product Strategy to communicate progress, insights, and risks across the business, specifically with key stakeholders.
- Seeking out and applying knowledge related the end-to-end business processes that are being enabled for digital self-service.
- ensuring internal product stakeholders needs /expectations are met and promote transparency by effectively communicating both within and across our teams.
Trend Monitoring and Product Performance
- Uses performance data to establish feedback loops to continuously develop new insights and hypotheses about product health. Key metrics include core Leading and Lagging indicators, Technical Health, Customer Feedback (and/or other appropriate metrics).
- Tracks product OKRs to understand progress towards outcomes and KPIs to understand product health, socializes progress, and consistently reinforces objectives and alignment with solution-level or portfolio outcomes.
- Coordinates product launches, including beta testing, user feedback collection, and product documentation.
- Managing through ambiguity and complexity to take calculated risks to solve problems and achieve challenging goals.
- Asking the right questions to get to the root cause to define problems before moving to solutions.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of digital product ownership or management, experience with roadmaps, driving deliverables, partnering with key stake holders, strong technical knowledge of products and systems.
7+ years of experience with Agile / SAFe / Kanban experience.
5+ years supporting services, back-end application, or platform teams.
5+ years of experience working directly with software engineering teams.
5+ years of experience with healthcare operations digital product strategies and/or support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Member/Claim domain knowledge or a strong aptitude to pick this up quickly.
- Health Insurance industry experience
- SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) experience.
- Product Owner/Product Management certificate or training.
- Experience working with common workflow tools (Rally or Jira).
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$101,970.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
