About the Opportunity:
As a Senior Manager of DevOps at Toppan Merrill, you will lead a global team of talented engineers to build and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure. You will be responsible for optimizing service delivery across production, QA, and development environments throughout the development lifecycle. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain a stable and efficient infrastructure to optimize service delivery across production, QA, and development environments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve building, packaging, and deployment processes.
- Implement automated infrastructure capabilities like backups, security tools, and monitoring.
- Utilize a consistent DevOps approach to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality across functions.
- Hire, retain, mentor, and manage engineering staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs and develop their professional careers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technical and business stakeholders, motivating and communicating within their department and across multiple levels.
- Develop strategies and new initiatives with their team to advance on an organizational and technical level both the department, the company, and the product.
- Ensure psychological safety on your team and provide regular and clear feedback around individual performance.
- Improve product quality, security, and performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in DevOps, including experience with deployment/configuration management tools like Terraform, Jenkins, Maven, Puppet, or Ansible
- Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows OS, and experience with Azure and other cloud services
- Experience with programming and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Bash, PHP, Java, or SQL.
- Proven ability to build and lead global, high-performing teams
- Experience in transitioning to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated successful partnership with stable counterparts.
- Exemplify diversity, inclusion, and belonging in leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a primarily remote company.
- Management credibility with considerable experience as an engineering manager.
- Technical credibility with experience as a product engineer and leading teams thereof.
We understand that your skills deserve recognition. That's why we offer a competitive pay scale ranging from $167,000 to $180,000 CAD annually, based on experience and expertise. We believe in compensating our dedicated team members fairly for their hard work and commitment. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location. This position is also eligible for a company performance-based bonus program.
