Maxar Space is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to work within our Finance Operations team in Palo Alto, CA. This role may also be performed remotely within the U.S. This position will support executive leadership and cost/control account managers (CAMs) to ensure cost and schedule performance, including financial stability for indirect costs and capital projects. The Finance Operations team works closely with the CFO and senior executives to plan the business and allocate budget and resources to the company's satellite programs and other strategic R&D initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong business relationships with Operations and Management to ensure accurate monthly/quarterly reporting
- Support the monthly/quarterly financial cycles to ensure the accuracy of demand and alignment with available resources
- Build knowledge of Maxar's business to become a key financial business partner to Maxar organizations
- Continuously assess financial and schedule risks and opportunities for reconciliation of functional labor and non-labor incurred costs and EAC forecasts
- Provide financial modeling and financial analysis to ensure data integrity across reporting systems
- Support Maxar's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) processes and overall budget compliance
- Lead monthly reviews of operating expenses, capital expenditures and headcount for departments as needed
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree. A Master's degree may be counted as two years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
- Excel and SAP experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in Finance
- Manufacturing or aerospace industry experience
- Experience with SAP S4, SAC, Tableau and/or data visualization systems
- Advanced experience with Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and visualizations for graphics
- Advanced analytical skills, combined with excellent business judgment and strong ability to clearly and concisely communicate with management level personnel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in team environment to support business objectives
- Organized, detail-oriented individual with ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy of information
- Integrity with confidential information

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $74,000.00 - $122,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $81,000.00 - $135,000.00 annually.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $85,000.00 - $141,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
