Position Summary:
We seek a dedicated Sr. Financial Analyst to support our Global Procurement team. This role involves driving process improvements and financial analytics in strategic sourcing and procurement. As a key member of the Dexcom Operations Finance team, you will provide actionable intelligence to executive leaders, enhancing global growth and efficiency. By being a key member on the finance operations team, you will improve Dexcom’s ability to provide lifesaving technology to global patients!
Where you come in:
- Develop, interpret, track, and implement financial analytics for the global supply chain
- Perform technical analysis to assess past, current, and future financial performance
- Gather, analyze, and prepare recommendations for financial plans and forecasts
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership to drive cost efficiency and strategic financial decisions
- Gain exposure to contracting, negotiation, cross-functional mentorship, and large cost-saving projects
- Partner with Procurement Leadership to drive and monitor cost savings projects
- Track indirect procurement costs, opportunities, and risks to ensure accurate forecasts and P&L impacts
- Prepare monthly Purchase Price variance metrics and material cost reports for Executive Leadership, including forecast updates
- Develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts with the Procurement Leadership team
- Implement process efficiency improvements through automation and reporting enhancements
- Perform month-end close activities and forecast reporting for Procurement, including accruals and partnering with the accounting organization
- Create and maintain KPIs to drive actionable improvements
- Represent Cost Accounting and Finance in new product introduction and end-of-life strategies to ensure financial clarity and controls
- Provides functional support to the Sr. Manager of Operations Finance in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls
- Collaborate with corporate and operations FP&A for accurate reporting, variance analysis, and forecast inputs
- Develop and maintain SOX controls and ensure adherence to cost accounting standards, GAAP reporting, and analytics
What makes you successful:
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications especially in Excel and Power Points (pivot tables, vlookup, filters).
- Technical ability to work with large data sets from multiple systems and make good business judgment when necessary
- Great communication skills and comfortable working with both US and Global based employees at differing levels
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of general accounting principles & essential financial reporting for P&L and balance sheet (accruals, prepaids, capital expenditures)
- Strong work ethic with a collaborative attitude and confident written and verbal communicator
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines while delivering consistent, accurate and reliable work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Hyperion, Oracle, and Tableau
- Industry experience in medical device
- Enjoys working with people and manipulating data into actionable insights
Travel Required:
- Up to 10%
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5-8 years of industry experience
