(Sr) Financial Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are the global market leader for implantable and extracorporeal blood pumps based on magnetic levitation technology. Our life-saving systems, which we develop and manufacture in Zurich, are used for advanced heart failure patients needing short- or long-term circulatory support. 

• Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

• Interact with management to prepare planning schedules and key monthly management reports, focusing on variance analysis, trends and key business issues.

• Provide reliable, timely and accurate financial information to enable effective decision-making. Apply appropriate logic and financial concepts to solve problems and recommend solutions.

• Work with a variety of functions and various levels of management to evaluate strategic initiatives and cost saving opportunities.

• Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.

• Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.

• Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.

• Maintain data base (Dodeca) for reporting and Latest Best Estimate.

• Prepare and distribute financial reports by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.

• Work with Business Partners on Capital and Project Expense.

• Prepare a wide range of financial services and deliverables, including ad-hoc management reporting, submission of financial schedules to Division/Corporate, coordination of planning schedules and meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or similar qualification

• Min 3-5 experience in financial planning and analysis

• Experience in Manufacturing and/or Operations (in addition to equivalent experience listed above)

• Fluent English and comprehensive German is required

• Strong communication, presentation and teamwork skills

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Capability to manage databases from different systems (SAP, Essbase, Excel, Dodeca, PowerBI)

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to articulate financial results based on audience

• Ability to manage tight deadlines in high-pressure situations

• Ability to work effectively under uncertainties and flexibility to meet changing priorities in a proactive manner

• Initiative and self-motivation in understanding business needs

• Excellent command of English is essential, German comprehension would be an asset

• Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and excellent proficiency with excel
