Job Description

Position Purpose

  • The position supports the IT Finance Manager in providing finance reporting, analysis and business partnering support to the IT function, responsible for both Opex and capex spend and supporting on business cases.
  • Responsible for tracking BUP initiative spend, reporting actual costs, monitoring, and reporting variances to plan.
  • This position supports managing budgeting, forecasting and several towers (Infrastructure, Supply Chain, IMETA & APAC Business Partner and NA Business Partner) within Global IT as well as other budgeting activities, notably Allocation control
  • This position will have responsibilities pertaining monthly close for Global IT, periodic IT forecasts, quarterly corporate forecasts, Yearly Budget and 4-year plan
  • This position will support cash forecasting for IT

Global group wide – IT Corporate function.

Measures

  • Through the process of supporting the business, this position can make recommendations that support business strategy/performance/initiatives and to meet the annual budget.
  • Efficient and timely financial reporting on spend in IT function Towers, both opex & capex.
  • Precision of analysis, insights & commentary on the financial results and performance.
  • Forecast / budget opex and capex spend accuracy.
  • Tracking accuracy of BUP initiatives.

Major/Key Accountabilities

  • Analysis of period end opex and capex expenditure to provide understanding & commentary on the financial results and performance of the function.
  • Identifies potential risks/opportunities in the financial plans, with actionable insights to enable corrective action to be taken where required.
  • Responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of spend (opex & capex) on IT BUP initiatives.
  • Proactively supports stakeholders by providing financial guidance in relation to their opex and capex spend.
  • Support the process of measuring, tracking, and reporting investments (costs and benefits); helping conduct financial analysis on new projects and initiatives and providing financial input to business cases.  Ensures adherence to financial guidelines & project reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of the monthly forecast and annual budget process (templates, data review and consolidation, presentations).
  • Responsible for annual allocation charges and budget Allocation model

Challenges/ Problem Solving

  • Must provide financial advice to IT stakeholders related to accruals, POs, forecasting, tracking project spend.
  • Ability to work across different time zones and cultures both within IT function, the Corporate Finance team and across the regional business units.
  • Leads the monthly forecast cycles for IT, including review and challenge of monthly forecast submissions, to ensure achievement of budget targets

Authority/ Decision Making

  • Provides view on completeness/soundness of financial business cases and capex requests for IT PMs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or in a relevant business or technical discipline.  Alternatively, qualified through significant experience of working in a commercial finance function.
  • Studying for, or part-qualified, professional accounting qualification desirable.

Experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Finance, supporting business leaders.
  • Demonstrable professional experience in FP&A and associated financial processes.
  • Experience providing financial support and investment review is desirable
  • Experience of working with and commercially partnering business units/functions.
  • Prior experience in SAP FICO, Power BI and BW is desirable.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial situations clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • Ability to partner with colleagues across multiple departments and geographic locations.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft applications – Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Microsoft Excel, capable of undertaking large & complex financial modelling.
  • Advanced Power BI is highly desirable
  • Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed, organised; able to meet multiple finite deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • Candidate must have an analytical thought process and the ability to multitask and re-prioritise frequently.
  • Excellent problem solving and quantitative analysis skills.
