Job Description

The Opportunity: 

The Global Brand Team (GBT) Finance team is seeking a collaborative and self-motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join the team in its Corporate Headquarters in El Segundo, CA. This position will report to the Manager of Finance. This position will provide an opportunity to work with cross-functional teams within the GBT and across total Mattel.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Provide financial direction to brand teams that allow us to achieve brand profitability targets
  • Represent the finance point-of-view at cross functional meetings with design, marketing, sales, and other functions
  • Develop annual operating plans, budgets, and communicate business performance against plan and prior years
  • Review forecasts and results cross-functionally with our FP&A team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and planning
  • Lead and drive in-depth financial analysis related to key business unit initiatives, including formulating steps and executing to successful conclusion 
  • Support any ad-hoc financial and strategic analysis related to key business unit initiative

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate effectively with key stakeholders and senior executives 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, paired with exceptional attention to detail and documentation abilities 
  • Highly self-motivated professional with strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to deliver actionable business insights. 
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast paced and complex environment with short deadlines
  • Passionate about delivering results with a proactive, results-oriented mindset and a commitment to high ethical standards 
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for the toy, entertainment, consumer products industries a plus
  • BS/BA required (Finance, Accounting, Economics preferred); MBA preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience with an MBA (or equivalent advanced degree) or Bachelor’s and 5+ years’ experience in a related role
  • Excel proficiency (modeling and forecasting) required; PowerPoint or other graphics presentation capability preferred.
  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $104,000 and $130,000
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
