About the role
The Sr. Director, Theatrical Release Operations will lead all aspects of large-scale theatrical releases by creating a comprehensive lifecycle plan and managing deliverables. You will drive every phase of the project lifecycle, collaborating with teams across distribution, marketing, production, operations, and vendors.
As the Sr. Director, Theatrical Release Operations, you will report to the VP, Global Theatrical Distribution and work closely with Sr. Director, Global Theatrical Business Operations..
This role is based from our Culver City office and works a hybrid schedule.
- Manage all aspects of a theatrical release project plan.
- Partner with Distribution, Marketing, Production, Acquisitions and Operations to improve workflows and deliverables, providing high-quality daily support and updates as the point of contact for Crunchyroll Films global theatrical release projects.
- Predict and identify roadblocks, escalating concerns and advocating solutions to resolve them.
- Coordinate with partners to align on key deliverables by territory and prioritize the workflow
- Establish processes to track master release timelines, production delivery, marketing/promotional asset delivery, exhibitor programs and materials, global and territory partnership programs, et.
- Collaborate with Japan-based approvals team to facilitate delivery of approvals requests and ensure between the approvals team and key internal stakeholders.
- Identify project timelines, milestones, and owners - managing execution against key objectives.
About You
You’re not just familiar with theatrical release planning and best practices in project management—you excel at going beyond the formula to bring creative approaches and solutions.
- 15+ years of experience in the independent theatrical film industry, focused on the lifecycle of large-scale theatrical release
- Experience managing theatrical release projects from start to finish
- Experience working with a diverse creative and technical team
- Experience engaging with project management processes, approaches, and tactics
- Knowledge of and a passion for entertainment, anime, and pop culture

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
