The Senior Director, Global Sales Incentives and Performance Management supports the Global Commercial organization in achieving growth objectives. They work with senior leadership, sales, finance, HR, and IT to improve sales operations, performance management, and compensation strategies.

The ideal candidate should have experience in commercial operations, sales compensation, and using data to support decision-making and performance management. This role is responsible for managing sales incentive compensation, including target setting, territory alignments, governance and plan modeling. The candidate will direct oversight and administration of related activities.​

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy, implementation, communication, governance, and continuous improvement of Sales Incentive Plans, including determination of quotas for participants in the Sales Incentive Plans.
  • Lead sales force design and deployment, in partnership with senior sales leaders, to enable sales territory viability, equity, and growth expectations.
  • Partner with sales and sales operations leadership to develop practical compensation plans that enable the sales team to successfully drive and achieve our sales growth targets. Ensure the related processes, policies and systems are in place to deliver fair and accurate incentive plans aligned with corporate objectives in a legal and compliant manner.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, HR and finance teams to provide governance and alignment across processes/systems, drive adoption of tools and share standard methodologies.
  • Serve as the liaison between the selling organization and all internal operational groups to ensure collaborative and effective partnerships to drive sales effectiveness.
  • Deliver comprehensive reports to sales teams at all levels, providing insights into performance and other important data. Work closely with leaders to drive new initiatives and collaborate across departments to improve performance using analytics.
  • Manage territory alignment administration for the selling professionals.
  • Lead change management and communication of plans, policies, and procedures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate compensation processing and payment to the sales teams.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 20 years’ experience in commercial operations, sales compensation, commercial analytics, or other related fields. Experience in the genomic sequencing, medical device or life sciences industries strongly preferred.
  • Must have at least 10 years in people leadership roles, preferably in commercial organizations.
  • Global experience to work across various regions, strongly preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to interact successfully across organizational levels and functions.
  • Strong orientation toward data management, data governance, and process improvement.
  • Can disseminate information effectively and supply regular updates to key partners.
  • Proven understanding of compensation planning and administration.
  • Must be diligent with strong analytical skills.
  • Able to work independently, multi-task, and maintain focus on the goals at hand.
  • Consistent track record in dealing with highly ambiguous problems, taking full control and responsibility for and driving simple solutions to sophisticated problems.
  • Strong familiarity with project management standards and methodologies.
  • Strong product management skills required, including a detailed understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge in crafting and maintaining management level and detailed project plans applying project software.
  • Proven track record to lead a matrixed team of professionals to complete projects on time.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer orientation, and problem-solving, can-do attitude.
  • Multi-tasking experience and flexibility to address immediate priorities and still lead deadlines with longer-term projects and critical initiatives.

The estimated base salary range for the Sr. Director, Global Sales Performance Management role based in the United States of America is: $201,100 - $301,700. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
