Position Overview:
The Director/Sr. Director of Field Operations and Commercial Data Management will be responsible for operational excellence for a variety of Commercial processes impacting the quality of our health care provider and internal and field staff experiences and will optimize our ability to execute Commercially. They will lead our Incentive Comp process, Field reporting and ad hoc analytics, Data Management, all commercial technology initiatives excluding Digital Marketing (which will be partnered with the Marketing Operations area), CRM management, and compliance support. The Head of Field Operations and Commercial Data Management will be responsible for several field support functions and will collaborate with HR, IT, Compliance and Finance to ensure appropriate field solutions are in place.
Responsibilities:
- Design and Develop Commercial information ecosystem
- Core deliverables will include Incentive Comp plans and process that drive the right behaviors and optimize our financial performance, a commercial infrastructure that maximizes our ability to execute commercially, data management that ensures quality and effectiveness of our data investments, reporting and analytics that position the field team to deliver on their goals, primary partnership with head of IT for Commercial
- Works cross-functionally to align strategies and Commercial goals with Field Operations and Data Management execution
- Work directly with Marketing and Sales leadership to build appropriately sized field teams
- Partner with brand and sales to design effective targeting schemes
- Lead Commercial excellence initiatives to improve our execution across the organization
- Will be a key part of the Commercial Operations Leadership team
- Results-oriented leader dedicated to delivery and efficiency of field team execution
- Leads through collaboration and partnership
- Develops metrics to measure execution
Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with Commercial infrastructure, field execution and strategy, Incentives, BI and customer experience work
- Experience in diagnostics, medical device, biotech or pharmaceutical industries preferred
- Oncology, Infectious Disease and Auto-immune Disease experience preferred
- Sales experience preferred
- Excellent structured and unstructured problem-solver
- Proactive approach to work; strong personal drive and desire for feedback
- Refined interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment; capable of communicating with and facilitating decisions involving a diverse group of individuals
- Strong team player - highly effective in partnering cross-functionally and influencing without authority
- Effective project leader able to work autonomously to advance the team toward agreed-upon goals
- Ability to clarify and overcome ambiguity; flexibility to adapt to change
- Experience managing external vendors
- Proficient in the use of MS PowerPoint and Excel

Compensation Overview:
The anticipated annual salary range for this role at Director level is $200,000 to $280,000, and at Sr. Director level is $240,000 to $320,000. These are the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include – but are not limited to – the final job level offered, the type and length of experience within the job and industry, relevant education, qualifications, skills, certifications, performance, and business or organizational needs.
The hired applicant will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and an equity grant in the form of stock options.

- All Prothena employees (and their families) are covered by medical, dental, and vision insurance, with Prothena paying ~90% of plan premiums.
- Prothena pays the full premium for basic life and disability insurance for all employees.
- Prothena employees are also eligible to enroll in our Company’s 401(k) plan and are always 100% vested in their account balances. The 401(k) plan provides for a quarterly, non-discretionary, 3% company-paid contribution on eligible earnings, as well as an additional, annual discretionary Company match of up to 2% of eligible earnings.
- New Prothena employees are also eligible for 17 days of paid vacation accrued over the course of the first year of employment, paid sick time in accordance with state law, and company-paid holidays – which includes a Company-wide shutdown at the winter holidays.
