What you'll do:

At The Trade Desk, we are searching for a master relationship builder, sales leader, and creative problem solver to join our growing team as a Senior Director of Business Development. In this role, we expect you to exhibit high emotional intelligence and integrity as you establish your role as a true consultative business partner to our clients. This high visibility role offers you an unparalleled opportunity to lead some of our most strategic accounts by demonstrating your understanding of programmatic, customer engagement, & strategic up selling.

  • Define business development strategy and create revenue stream to enable sustainable new business growth in Taiwan
  • Acquire, build, and cultivate relationships with senior client leadership
  • Work cross-functionally with client services and trading teams to drive strategy, deepen relationships and cultivate growth
  • Lead the effort of market education and thought leadership to change how industry thinks about programmatic and help agencies and advertisers to grasp at value of the open internet and TTD


  • Participate in product road map build out discussions based on client and agency needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering
  • Take lead in responding to RFPs, including qualification & win strategy
  • Work closely with product, marketing and revenue teams to constantly optimize efforts relating to company-wide goals
  • Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding agency objectives and/or core client business needs
  • Build deep and lasting connections internally across The Trade Desk departments and specialty functions.

Who you are:

  • At least 10-15 years of experience in online advertising sales or business development
  • At least 8-10 years team management experience required
  • Passionate about making positive impact and change to Taiwan digital ecosystem
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with C-level clients
  • Experience establishing longstanding, consultative client relationships
  • Existing relationships with decision-makers at major holding companies is a plus
  • Core belief in the power of The Open Internet to drive business results for our partners
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability, able to lead commercial negotiations
  • Experience working with a technical platform is preferred
  • Passion for owning a room, closing deals, and getting wins
  • Able to travel occasionally for business and internal meetings
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations
