We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our ever evolving Payment Strategic Routing team to help us unleash the potential of every business.

About the team
The Payment Strategic Routing team collaborates with clients and internal partners to enhance payment processing through intelligent routing strategies. We leverage data-driven insights and AI/ML techniques to optimize transaction efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize success rates.

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions that drive strategic decision-making and payment optimization. Working with business and technology teams, you’ll apply advanced analytics to improve routing efficiency, mitigate fraud, and enhance transaction performance on our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, business acumen, and an innovative mindset to shape the future of payments.
What you’ll own

Collaborate with business partners to understand and document requirements with specific use cases

Data analysis through collecting, processing, and analyzing large data sets from various sources across the business

Identify and evaluate new data sources (internal and external) to support and drive improvements in predictive models

Utilize advanced data analytics, statistical analysis, hypothesis testing and develop machine learning algorithms to provide business value from data products

Implement and deploy models and ML algorithms into a production environment with all the necessary controls in place

Create data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders

Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in data science and machine learning

Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle, developing reusable patterns

Work with Big Data and transform complex datasets into more usable formats

Create and present analyses to internal and external partners and clients

Document models and write code to track and monitor models and product performance
-
Understand the realities of model development and make pragmatic and business-aware choices when trading-off sophistication and accuracy versus implementation and performance costs

You’ll own it in our vibrant Cincinnati or Boston Hub on a hybrid schedule!
What you bring
-
Strong knowledge in data science theory, machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modelling, data visualization, and data analysis

Proficient in data science tools and programming languages such as Python, R, Scala, SQL and the associated ML / Data science frameworks

Experience with AWS, Snowflake and Databrick plus other cloud-based environment and tools

Experience in delivering within cloud-based data platforms

Experience working in Agile cross-functional teams in a project-based environment

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, and effectively interact with various functional areas and facilities

Excellent analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team, and time management skills
-
Highly analytical with strong, demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
Education Requirements:

Graduate Degree in a Quantitative field (Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science) or relevant experience.

5+ years work experience.

Worldpay is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive compensation. The pay range for this full-time position is $123,810.00 - $207,980.00 and reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position based on the posted role, level, and location. Within the range, actual individual starting pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Any changes in work location will also impact actual individual starting pay. Please consult with your recruiter about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
