What's the role?
HERE is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for our SLI Perception and Extraction Engineering team in the Foundation Engineering organization. You will join an engineering team that works closely with data scientists and software engineers to develop AI/ML models, as well as software for data extraction, visualization, labeling, and validation, with a strong focus on continuous delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on full-stack development technologies and provides a chance to collaborate with a dynamic and dedicated team of computer vision/machine learning experts and software engineers.
You will tackle highly visible, technology-driven challenges with a direct connection to the success of the company. The team's effectiveness will be measured by scalability, high quality, maintainability, and computational efficiency.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be passionate about innovating and developing machine learning and data analytics solutions to build our industry-leading live maps. You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, developers, and architects to design, develop, deploy, and maintain models and applications across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build the next iteration of process automation for HERE's mapmaking processes, leveraging a highly scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning techniques to support global-scale digital map-making.
  • Develop and test analytical, statistical, and machine learning models to optimize internal data-driven processes for map-making, decision-making, and system control.
  • Design and implement tools and machine learning models to analyze, visualize, extract, and evaluate map features from street-level imagery and LiDAR.
  • Serve as an expert and advocate in data mining, machine learning, computer vision, and predictive analysis.
  • Apply data science, machine learning, and stochastic algorithms to address complex challenges in map creation and updates.
  • Collaborate on algorithm and software development as part of a scrum team, delivering artifacts (e.g., software, presentations, datasets) for internal and external reviews and demos.
  • Develop and support map automation pipelines to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Who are you?
