Compensation
The compensation target range for this role is:
$80,800 - $95,000
Job Summary
The Senior Controls Engineer will be responsible for virtually all the technical work with respect to automation projects and services provided to the Operations team. The role of Senior Controls Engineer comes with a variety of different responsibilities and options to pursue many career paths.
Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage Electrical Contractors to maintain facility electrical systems.
-
Guide the Install and hook-up manufacturing equipment, exercising care as to size of motors, voltage requirements, and balance circuits for proper power distribution.

Advise on how to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical and electrical components.
-
Proficiency in diagnosing the nature of a problem, perform a variety of electrical test procedures, disassemble equipment and replace defective parts, make connections, reassemble and test.
-
Design control panels designed to UL Standards.
-
Proficiency with VFD programming and troubleshooting.
-
Able to direct after hour call outs to the proper controls team member(s) in order to repair the machinery (all hours).

Work closely with Mechanical engineering team to alter and modify production machinery.
-
Knowledgeable in sizing loads and breaker sizing for machinery.
-
Experienced and proficient with PLC Ladder Logic and Function Block diagram programming methods and uses.
-
Proficient in the programming and troubleshooting of GE, Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s.
-
Ability to draw both basic and complex circuits and electrical diagrams for small and large equipment and systems.

Conduct Root Cause Analysis for Electrical Failures.

Network design and implementation specific to general networking as well as ProfiNet, and safety network systems.

Experienced in designing safety systems and programming, Knowledge of Keyence and Banner safety controllers is a plus.
Required Skills, Education, Experience:
Associated Degree in an Automation/Electrical program is required:

Bachelor's Degree in Related field

5 years of experience in a related field
-
Expertise with injection molding is a plus

Proficient in Motor Control Theory
-
Ability to read electrical drawings, as well as redline the drawings as field modifications are made, update drawings as needed.
