Job Purpose and Impact
The Senior Data Governance Analyst will work to ensure Cargill data assets are properly governed through practices that promote proper use, protection, access, and reliability. In this role, you will work cross functionally to bring new processes, practices, and standards to how data is governed throughout Cargill.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of the data governance program and operational model.
- Lead the implementation and operationalization of a data classification program.
- Collaborate across teams to identify data risks; analyze and propose solutions.
- Provide training on data governance practices across the organization to increase compliance and effectiveness.
- Support execution efforts to introduce new technology capabilities or features to enhance data governance.
- Build partnerships across function and business groups to ensure data governance standards are understood and adhered to.
- Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Confirmed experience in implementing data governance programs
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in leading global or cross-functional data governance initiatives
- Proven ability to collaborate without boundaries
- Proficient in defining shared needs and leading through change
- Expertise in data governance practices
- Familiarity with data governance technologies (e.g., Informatica, Alation, Collibra, etc.)
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data governance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)
- Certification in data governance, data security, or data management (e.g., CDMP, CIMP, NIST, etc.)
