The Sr. Compliance Business Analyst acts as a liaison between technical and business user groups supporting Compliance Systems and Corporate Solutions.  The individual works closely with Systems, GFCC, OGC and Capital Partners and is responsible for defining and documenting business systems requirements and ensuring technology solutions enhance and support the business operations.  The individual also identifies technology alternatives and recommends system solutions to business and technical audiences.  The Sr. Compliance Business Analyst participates in all phases of the systems development life cycle – from project scoping, planning and requirements definition to issues resolution, testing, training, and implementation.  This role also includes oversight, mentorship, and guidance of junior resources across Corporate Technology.

1. Planning and Organization

  • Develop clear, concise methodology documents, which require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.
  • Review and assist in development of project plans, project workflows and resource assignments as requested by Project Manager.
  • Facilitate the definition of functional requirements by working with programmer analysts and users in prototyping and design sessions.
  • Translate and present project concepts into effective visual images which clarify design elements and issues for both business and technical audiences.

2. Project Management

  • Ensure methodology is followed for project; provide meaningful feedback in accordance with departmental standards and guidelines.
  • Maintain issue log; coordinate and support communications surrounding both systems and user acceptance for assigned project(s).
  • Identify, mediate, resolve and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.
  • Conduct user training.

3. Execution

  • Participate in development of test strategy, test plans and test cases
  • Translate system workflows into system configuration
  • Participate in test execution and document results

4. Coaching & Development

  • Provides coaching and training to more junior Systems Business Analyst.

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)    

  • BA/BS degree and/or related work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience writing technical specifications, preferably at a financial services company and AML Sanctions Compliance.

Knowledge and skills (general and technical)      

  • Skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in translating compliance forms and workflows from a dozen business units and more than a hundred global jurisdictions into IBM Operational Decision Manager (“ODM”) rules to manage KYC and AML compliance.
  • Experience working with KYC products such as Fenergo, etc. would be ideal.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with KYC, sanctions screening, AML transaction monitoring and other compliance functions.
  • Experience with SQL scripting (Oracle, MS SQL)
  • Knowledge and use of JIRA and working in an AGILE environment.
  • Strong skills in MS Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exudes a high level of integrity with the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to analyze current workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Written and oral communications skills

   

Salary Range

$120,000 - $170,000

BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
