PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $125,700.00-$153,600.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $97,400.00 - $181,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage.  Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance.  We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees.  Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan.  Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. As a Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial well-being of our members while strengthening BECU’s commitment to excellence in commercial lending. You’ll ensure the stability and growth of our commercial credit portfolio by leveraging your expertise in credit analysis, underwriting, and relationship management. Through your contributions, you’ll help businesses thrive, navigate complex challenges, and achieve their goals. WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage Your Portfolio: Take ownership of an assigned portfolio of business credits, conducting annual reviews, processing extensions, and handling new credit requests to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.

  • Provide Expert Analysis: Analyze financial data to evaluate new and renewal loan requests, ensuring alignment with BECU’s commercial credit standards and policies.

  • Collaborate on Complex Loans: Partner with borrowers, attorneys, and Relationship Managers to resolve troubled loans and recommend risk ratings and pricing for credits within your portfolio.

  • Shape Credit Decisions: Recommend and/or approve credit requests within your lending authority, contributing to sound decision-making and risk management.

  • Enhance Loan Structures: Work closely with attorneys and financial experts to develop loan structures that fully protect BECU’s interests and support member success.

  • Mentor and Guide: Share your knowledge by coaching, mentoring, and partnering with team members to strengthen their understanding of Business Services and credit processes.

  • Negotiate with Confidence: Lead negotiations on credit terms, costs, repayment methods, and collateral specifications, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements for BECU and its members.

  • Stay Informed: Maintain a thorough understanding of commercial lending policies, procedures, and regulatory updates to ensure compliance and excellence in service.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field required, or equivalent work or educational experience. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) analysis, underwriting and relationship management in financial institutions.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience using a variety of analytical tools to spread financial statements, analyze credit quality, analyze balance sheets, assess cash flow, model base case and downside forecasts, evaluate risk and support credit approval.

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Applied knowledge of credit policies, procedures, practices and documentation.

  • Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.

  • Effective leadership and negotiation skills.
