Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Sr Business Analyst is to develop, plan and implement technology solutions to improve business needs. They are responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the Business using analytics to assess processes, determine requirements and deliver recommendations to executives and stakeholders.

A strong understanding of the technology landscape and industry acumen is necessary to effectively analyze and document business requirements, workflows and use best practices in collaboration with enterprise architects, application developers, consultants, and vendors. This position will require concurrent work on disparate projects, ranging from system implementations to organizational efficiency initiatives to business development opportunities.

The Sr Business Analyst must be able to develop comprehensive requirement documents and process flows, define project scope and objectives, coordinate testing with business stakeholders and Quality Assurance team, conduct and document user acceptance testing, and identify and mitigate risks / issues to deliver the project scope.

The ability to professionally engage and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including C-level executives, is a fundamental requirement for this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop business/financial models and metrics to address business critical issues and prioritization

  • Document and analyze business systems and user defined needs.

  • Lead and drive strategic goal setting discussions to understand high level expectations.

  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to set clear requirements to reach goals and milestones.

  • Define project scope to include objectives, budget, added value and benefits.

  • Facilitate cost and effort estimation sessions with developers and third-party solution providers.

  • Manage and supervise requirements and changes throughout project lifecycle.

  • Engage appropriate participants through detailed testing validation and execution.

  • Ensure delivery of high quality solutions to the business.

  • Audit, analyze, and summarize overall performance and provide results during follow-ups and leadership debrief.

  • Perform job duties in a safe manner.

  • Attend work as scheduled on a consistent and regular basis.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.

  • Proof of authorization to work in the United States

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any certification or license, as required by law or policy. 

  • 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst

  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, business requirements analysis and documentation, data mapping and test planning.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile methodology, BPMN, UML, user interface design.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise modelling suites such as MagicDraw, Sparx Enterprise Architect.

  • Ability to work independently and to effectively manage and execute multiple initiatives concurrently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Physically access assigned workspace areas with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Work remotely as necessary

  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, and dust.

  • Utilize laptop and standard keyboard to perform essential functions of the job.
