Catalent Maryland a Gene Therapy facility, located in the city of Baltimore, MD, specializes in upstream and downstream process development of viral vectors for clinical applications. At this facility, we are looking for a Financial Analyst who possesses solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills. The Financial Analyst will analyze past financial performance to predict future performance and advise the company on its financial strategy.

The Senior Financial Analyst will have significant exposure to the Senior Finance Leadership as well Catalent’s Corporate Finance Leadership including Controllers and Chief Accounting Office. The Senior Financial Analyst provides a significant opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced and growth-driven environment. This is a full-time on-site position, M-F 8am-5pm

The Role:

  • The role provides cost management, direction, and analytical support for assigned areas in the manufacturing plant
  • Establish and actively review cost accounting activities, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting while also actively participating on monthly accounting close processes related to Cost of Goods
  • Monitor and analyze cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement
  • This position partners with the operations teams to provide comprehensive financial support including, but not limited to, monthly performance reports, financial analysis, recommendations for improvement areas when needed
  • Complete month end close process, including journal entries, expense analysis and development of cost of sales
  • Review, analyze and evaluate financial data for accuracy and consistency and preparing meaningful reports for leadership decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to identify cost risks and implement improvement strategies
  • Provide support to finance team and assist in driving process improvement
  • Support internal and external audit requests and documentation
  • Participate in special projects, ad-hoc research and data analysis as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

The Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years professional related experience MUST
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivots, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, SUMIFs, other functions)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles including balance sheet and GL – MUST Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Quality interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter continuously looking for process improvements

The anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is $93,280- $128,260

plus annual bonus, when eligible. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
