Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Department Intro:
The Non-Volatile Engineering Group (NVEG), a division within the Technology and Products Group (TPG), is dedicated to advancing non-volatile memory technologies, such as NAND. Our primary mission is to innovate and develop groundbreaking solutions that improve the performance and reliability of non-volatile memory products.
Position Overview:
As a Principal Design Engineer, you will serve as a technical authority in the analog/core functional team for NAND projects! You will participate in pathfinding activities for upcoming projects or tech nodes, including driving DTCO (design – technology co-optimization) CMOS scaling efforts and architecture definition. Your focus will be on solving complex technical problems and crafting strategic decisions related to DTCO, analog and core circuit and system design and NAND yield problem-solving!
Responsibilities:
-
Act as the go-to expert in the analog/core team for NAND projects, leading pathfinding initiatives and tackling intricate technical challenges
-
Shape the CMOS development to support NAND performance and cost improvement, serving as an authority for DTCO scaling of NAND projects.
-
Drive alignment of design solutions, methodologies, and circuits across a distributed matrix organization.
-
Coordinate project planning according to milestones, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and provide technical consultations on analog/core design and CMOS development.
-
Represent the analog/core team in multi-functional task forces and meetings, developing project requirements and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
MSEE with 10+ years of shown industry experience in the semiconductor space.
-
At least 5 years of post-degree experience in the design of NAND Flash memory analog/core circuits and their physical layout considerations.
-
Extensive experience in DTCO scaling for PPAC (power, performance, area, cost) tradeoffs specific to NAND Flash memory, gained over 5 years following degree completion.
-
Demonstrated ability to evaluate the risk/benefit of new circuit designs aligned with NAND algorithms before implementation
-
Understanding of CMOS device physics and reliability issues including CHC, NBTI, stress, snapback, Electro-migration (EM), and IR analysis.
-
Professional experience with analog and digital simulators such as HSPICE, Fast SPICE, Verilog, Cadence/LVS/DRC tools, and facilitating platforms like JAMA, JIRA, Unix, and scripting languages (Python).
Preferred Qualifications:
-
PhD and over a decade of validated professional experience in the semiconductor industry.
-
Self-motivated, performance-focused, and a collaborative partner with 3+ years of experience leading design or DTCO projects.
-
3 years of leading team members in a design project environment, empowering the team, and driving higher performances.
-
Good verbal communication skills (English) and ability to convey deeply technical concepts in verbal and written form.
-
3 years of cross-functional experience working with designer engineers, mask designers, device engineers and product engineers by following rigorous quality process and problem-solving method.
