Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to support underwriting operations within the Excess department, based in the Long Beach, NY location.  

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Complete dual-clearance for New Business and Renewal excess auto submissions as they come in through a centralized email inbox.  Clearance is completed in both the Lancer system and the Core system.

  • Check if broker’s office is appointed with the XS Auto division.

  • Email and save the clearance/not clear/declination letters to brokers into the system.  Also save the submission documents and recaption as appropriate.

  • Handle Broker of Record process by working with the Underwriters and following up on the final outcome of the BOR process.

  • Expectations are that submissions are cleared within 1 – 2 business days of receipt which requires staying on top of the daily workflow of submission clearing.

  • Other administrative projects as assigned.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook

Experience:

  • Experience in Auto Liability insurance setting (preferred)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

  • Functional in a highly collaborative environment.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks in a rapidly changing environment.

The expected pay range for the role is $45,000 - $50,000.  The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and experiences.    The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
