Position Summary

The Supplier Quality Engineer coordinates & drives supplier quality engineering activities with focus on quality problem reporting and resolution.

The role requires a person, capable to set, control and ensure implementation of development targets in challenging situations and taking technological trends into account.

You’ll be the part of our Supply Chain Management community and will report to the Supplier Quality Manager.

Your Role

  • Monitor supplier performance, develop and publish data reports and present data at site reviews
  • Manage supplier performance deficiencies with e.g. Controlled shipping and NBH
  • Supplier quality complaints: judge 8D reports and Problem Solving Tools analysis
  • Support and push under performing suppliers in their improvement activities
  • Manage supplier changes processing (SSCR)
  • Support Cost Recovery activities between Supplier and Aptiv
  • Support cross-functional teams (APQP/PDP) and function as a liaison to additional supplier development / supplier quality resources
  • Lead Regional SPDP Planning & Analysis and Administration Activities
  • Perform audits at suppliers concerning Manufacturing & Problem solving capabilities, independent planning, execution and rating of system and process audits at suppliers on request. Monitor/accelerate supplier implementation of improvement plans through follow up measures.
  • Support Supplier Management in:
    • Scorecard and Performance activities
    • QFS, NBH, Major disruption activities
    • Customer requirements related to suppliers
  • React as representative for SQ&D
  • SPDP: identify and execute self responsible the tools out of the SPDP “toolbox” which are adequate to solve a respective problem
  • Sampling Approval ( PPAP, PPF): initialize, observe, judge and approve products and processes at suppliers according to requirements
  • Capacity verification (R@R): independent planning, execution and rating of capacity verifications (R@R)
  • Special tasks: e.g. execution of internal activities (development of procedures; support of internal & external audits)
  • Policies & procedures: Ensure that Aptiv policies and procedures are followed

Your Background

  • Technical education (Engineer/Technician or adequate background);
  • Experience of min 3 years of Supplier Quality, Advance Quality or Quality Area in Automotive industry;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, quality and engineering processes;
  • Knowledge of Quality and Problem Solving tools;
  • Experience in Auditing of suppliers according to IATF Standards - advantage;
  • Experience in Claim Management;
  • Knowledge of Customer Specific requirements (including German OEMs) and Automotive Standard - advantage;
  • Fluent English
  • Self confident appearance in front of Supplier Management
  • Interpersonal skills to lead motivate and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques
  • Self-confident appearance in front of supplier management;
  • Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from supervisor;
  • Flexibility and travel readiness;
  • Driving license category B.
