Job Responsibilities:
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing & Communications Specialist will be responsible for supporting the overall coordination of the company's communications strategy, execution, and daily activities. The role will focus on content creation, leveraging communication tools, and executing communication campaigns by working closely with internal partners to promote employee engagement and understanding of Magna's culture and business goals. This role will also support Marketing initiatives through the support of events, facility branding and social campaigns.
GENERAL

  • Member of the Marketing & Communications team, largely focused on corporate communications, employee communications and events to maximize reach and increase engagement.
  • Support the execution of the communications strategy, including maintaining internal communication channels. (MagNET, MagnaNOW, Cerkl, MyLife, etc.)
  • Collect, support and create content, focusing on corporate and employee topics and inclusive of interviewing subject matter experts. (employee spotlights, blogs, video scripts, leadership messages, etc.)
  • Support internal communication events, including webcasts, conferences and workshops.
  • Build relationships across divisions and functions to foster open communication.
  • Provide support on external communication and social media channels to support technologies, targeted recruitment and company branding initiatives as needed.
  • Support marketing activities such as group participation in trade shows, customer events, customer tech shows and Magna conferences and events.
  • Coordinate projects and project teams and report on metrics (post-event surveys, reporting, and insights driving towards data-based decision-making).
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned


FINANCIAL & LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Must understand and comply the laws and cultures in countries which Magna conducts business & Magna compliances.


HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards
  • Review and adhere to MCML's health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment


  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act


QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications/public relations, marketing
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience or combination of education and experience


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Results oriented, strong sense of urgency, collaborative, proactive and flexible.
  • Great work ethic with strong motivation and aptitude towards the highest level of quality
  • Strong familiarity with MS Office programs and SharePoint is desirable.
  • Ability to write concise, captivating messaging for various audiences.
  • Ability to support global projects and work harmoniously in a multi-cultural environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel globally as required.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • The majority of the job is performed in a standard office environment with minimal risk or harmful elements.
  • Utilizing computer and/or telephone excessively.
  • Job requires dealing with confidential and sensitive information and situations.
  • Job requires handling of stressful situations on occasion.
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Must have or be able to attain/maintain a current Passport
