CHANEL Inc. is seeking a highly collaborative copywriter with beauty experience whose primary role is to adapt and write campaigns for the U.S. market. This individual is responsible for contributing to the growth of the U.S. business through creative initiatives with compelling, consistent brand communication.

About The Role

The CHANEL specialist copywriter contributes to the Artistic Direction team by developing and executing on-brand concepts and language for all categories of the CHANEL portfolio including beauty, fragrance, watches and fine jewelry and fashion. This person must appreciate the heritage of the House and be able to work within the established identity. They play a critical role in upholding the CHANEL brand voice with a majority focus on digital outputs. They align with our international vision and contribute to the creative force of the House under a common ideal and give meaning and consistency to new ideas and new opportunities.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

  • Adapt and implement globally developed language for the U.S. market
  • Assist in the development and execution of 360 campaigns that are on tone for the launch of new products, brand initiatives and ongoing business needs across digital, social, print and POS
  • Write tight, compelling collateral copy for marketing and events initiatives including co-ops
  • Adhere to U.S. style guidelines
  • Work closely with digital, print and POS designers to create holistic communication
  • Participate in regular copy workshops with global team to evaluate, propose and align on campaign language
  • Ensure flawless execution and consistency in messaging across all assets
  • Attend all operational, creative and task force meetings

What you will bring to the team:

  • Beauty and luxury category experience required
  • In-depth understanding of digital and social media, e-commerce and point-of-sale
  • True team player

  • Strong proofreading and copy-editing skills
  • Passion and enthusiasm for CHANEL brand voice
  • Proficiency/fluency in French desired

Position Logistics:

  • Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 2-4 years 

Compensation

  • The anticipated base salary range for this position is $60,000 through $90,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components may include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
