VetsEZ is seeking a remote Solutions Architect to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Solutions Architect will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to align technology with business goals. This role requires hands-on experience in system architecture, cloud platforms, and solution design, coupled with strong leadership and communication skills.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement architectural solutions that align with client requirements, business goals, and federal compliance standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather technical and business requirements, translating them into detailed architectural plans.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
- Develop architectural diagrams, roadmaps, and documentation to support solution implementation and maintenance.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and tools to enhance system performance, scalability, and security.
- Lead the adoption of cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and implement cloud-native solutions.
- Ensure integration and interoperability across systems, APIs, and services.
- Oversee system testing, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to propose innovative solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems design, or related roles.
- Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including certifications in one or more platforms.
- Proficiency in designing scalable and secure solutions using microservices, APIs, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of networking, databases, and system integration.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with the VA or other Government agencies.
- Ability to obtain a government clearance.
- Experience working in a SAFE/Agile environment.
