Solutions Engineer 

The Role 

As a Solutions Engineer, you will join Flexera’s talented, dynamic sales organization. You will partner with the field sales team and work with customers on identifying business issues Flexera can solve. You will serve as the main point-of-contact for our strategic clients with the mission to drive product adoption, value realization, and increase client loyalty. This is achieved through intensive hands-on work with various infrastructure stack and architecture, workload migration to our tools, providing client’s teams with enablement to operate and optimize their resources, and being a point of escalation for unique technical inquiries. 

You will lead the technical strategy to drive successful proofs of value (POV) and implement best practices. Additionally, you will actively participate in various projects aimed at enhancing the overall sales process. 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Partner with sales representatives, solutions engineers, and other revenue team members to drive product adoption and identify new growth opportunities (upsell/cross sell) for Flexera across enterprise opportunities 
  • Act as a subject matter expert for technical infrastructure questions, best practice, and advising C-level and other senior decision makers on optimizing their infrastructure footprint 
  • Lead and participate in discovery to uncover customer business values and objectives 
  • Produce and deliver compelling customer demonstrations, technical presentations, and POV activities 
  • Contribute to RFI/RFP & security questionnaire responses 
  • Promote clients’ interests, such as feature requests, to the product teams 
  • Increase product adoption by working hands-on with the client to run via the Flexera platform  
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to engage directly with customers and support sales efforts 

Experience:

Ideally, you will come from a pre-sales, customer success, and/or consulting background with 3-5 years of experience working in external client-facing technical roles. Your domain expertise will include some or all the following: 

  • FinOps, DevOps, Cloud Cost, Cloud Optimization or Cloud Management  
  • Data normalization for IT Asset Management 
  • Certified FinOps Practitioner 
  • Certification as a Cloud Solution Architect or equivalent; Azure/Google certification is a plus 
  • Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs, API tools (e.g., Postman), or scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python) is a plus 
  • Strong experience in Cloud Financial Management (FinOps), with a deep understanding 
  • Experience working with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, or GC)   
  • Outstanding communication and customer relationship skills   
  • Familiarity with a container orchestration platform (such as Kubernetes & Amazon ECS) 
  • Customer-centric mindset with a strong dedication to achieving customer success
