Role: Software Test Program Manager - Cloud

Smith+Nephew Sports Medicine group is building an advanced Cloud-based platform for computer-assisted surgical navigation. Join us on this journey to design and develop new innovative digital products that shape and redefine what is possible in Sports Medicine.
We are seeking a Software Test Program Manager and Scrum Master, to lead the software design, development, and testing of a sophisticated Cloud-based software system within Sports Medicine. The successful candidate will bring a demonstrated track record and experience delivering cloud and web-based software products to the market, as well as a teammate mentality to help the team deliver complex digital product solutions.
What will you be doing?
- Run a test automation program of 5–10 SW test engineers with minimum supervision.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives.
- Identify and solve obstacles that are hindering the team’s progress.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions.
- Communicate project status, risks, and issues to customers.
- Track important metrics and help teams deliver high-quality products / solutions on time.
- Ensure that the team follows the Scrum framework and adheres to Agile principles.
- Assist in functional testing of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. Establish quality gates and testing criteria for deployment approvals.
- Enhance observability and traceability of automated test pipelines, improving overall QA processes and system reliability.
- Work effectively multi-functionally with Technical Delivery Leader, Design & Usability, Marketing, R&D, Quality, and Regulatory and others to ensure inputs are considered and accounted for in software system architecture.
- Perform design control functions to ensure compliance with FDA, ISO, and other industry standards.
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, or Computer Science is required, while an MS or PhD in Software Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.
- Certification in Agile methodologies, like Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is helpful.
- Should have 5-8 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience managing a team of 5-10 persons.
- Strong experience of Agile Scrum principles and practices.
- Prior experience with a software engineering & testing environment is preferred.
- Should have experience in Web applications like AWS, Azure, GCC; preferred.
- Strong AWS exposure preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead complex cloud projects.
- Prior knowledge of Agile project management tools, such as Jira or Trello.
- Should be comfortable for European working hours and flexible for overlap with US team.
