Job Summary:
This position is on the Connectivity Enabled Solutions Team in Connectivity Department within the CAT Digital organization. This team has accountability for
- Building common datasets to support Connectivity initiatives.
- Streamline reporting of data through various sources, enhancing business logic to improve data reporting, and delivering visualize data in a consistent way for internal and external business users.
- Building solutions to monitor and improve telematics data quality.
Role Definition
Performs implementation, regular problem solving, maintenance and support for a agile software development.
Responsibilities
- Designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing test plans and test cases for target systems using agile methods.
- Writing and maintaining automated test scripts for new and existing applications.
- Facilitates in test design reviews and walkthroughs.
- Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex testing scenarios.
- Develops various, distinct, and multiple testing strategies and methodologies.
- Prepares technical documentation and blueprints for testing processes.
- Provides consulting on both selection and utilization of testing tools and frameworks.
- Ensures each phase in the testing process aligns with the target architecture and selects corresponding portfolio of services to ensure that stakeholder requirements are fully met.
- Demonstrates experience with the architecture and design of major or multiple testing frameworks.
- Advises others on implementing quality assurance deliverables and estimated outcomes for target architecture.
Basic Qualifications:
Educational Background: A four-year degree from an accredited college or university is required. A master's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
Software Testing Experience : 5+ years of experience in software testing, or at least 5 years of experience in software testing with a master's degree in computer science or a related field.
Test Automation: 5+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
API Testing: 5+ years of experience in testing Rest API and SOAP API, including designing and executing API test cases.
Database Testing : 5+ years of experience in database testing, including proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, etc.
Cloud Testing Services : 3+ years of experience with cloud-based testing services, particularly within AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
Web Application Testing: 3+ years of experience testing web applications, including proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Web Components.
Front-End Testing: 3+ years of experience testing customer-facing applications using front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, React, Polymer, or Vue.
Design Testing Patterns: 3+ years of experience designing patterns and implementing best practices in software testing
Strong understanding and/or experience in many of the following:
- Experience in designing and documenting test cases and test plans with tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, TestRail, etc.
- Experience in various types of software testing such as integration, regression, user acceptance testing (UAT), security, performance, etc.
- Automation testing tools such as Playwright, Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, etc.
- • Familiar with accessibility standards PWA, a11y, CWAG, ARIA, etc.
- Accessibility tools, checkers, and screen readers such as Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse, JAWS, Voiceover, etc.
- Unit testing frameworks and libraries such as: JUnit, Mockito, TestNG, NUnit.
- Integrate unit testing on CI/CD pipelines
- SQL and databases such as MySQL and Snowflake
- API test framework such as Postman, SoapUI, RestAssured, etc.
- API Testing Tools: such as Swagger, Postman, Apigee, etc.

- Describes key features and aspects of a specific testing discipline or methodology.
- Tests software components for compliance with functional requirements and design specifications.
- Explains procedures for documenting test activities and results (e.g. errors, non-conformance, etc.)
- Conducts functional and performance testing on aspects of assigned products.
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Working Knowledge:
- Supports the project leader in developing and executing system test plans.
- Evaluates system documentation and user manuals for usability, accuracy and completeness.
- Executes test cases, analyzes test results and reports on findings regularly.
- Tests system components for compliance with functional requirements.
- Participates in the testing of a system's ability to recover from hardware or software failures.
