Your Mission:


As a Software Reverse Engineer at ClearEdge, your mission is to analyze and reverse-engineer complex software and systems to uncover their behavior and functionality. Your expertise will enhance internal threat intelligence, strengthen defenses, and contribute to proactive cybersecurity strategies.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform static and dynamic analysis of hardware, firmware, and/or software using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Document malware behavior and patterns to enhance internal threat intelligence repositories with actionable insights.
  • Write detailed technical reports on findings, including recommendations for mitigation and defense strategies.
  • Develop or enhance tools to streamline malware analysis processes.
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends and malware tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

Must Have:

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • 10+ years of experience in software analysis, reverse engineering, or related cybersecurity fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Expertise in low-level programming languages such as C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Proficiency with reverse engineering tools like IDA Pro, Ghidra, OllyDbg, or x64dbg.
  • Experience with debugging and disassembly techniques.
  • Strong understanding of operating system internals, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization and sandbox environments (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox) for dynamic analysis.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and persistence in solving complex challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Advanced understanding of malware types (viruses, worms, ransomware, trojans) and their attack vectors.
  • Knowledge of common obfuscation and anti-reverse engineering techniques used by malware.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols and traffic analysis for malware communication.
  • Relevant certifications, such as OSCP, GREM, CEH, or similar cybersecurity credentials.
