The Software Quality Intern is responsible for applying their knowledge in AI to actual AI applications (machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, hybrid AI, etc.) for diagnostic medical devices and Quality System processes.

This position is part of the Product Lifecycle Quality Department and will be located in Sunnyvale, California. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Work with the selection, design, and implementation of AI models in Medical Device Quality Management System (QMS).

• Collaborate with researchers, developers, program managers at the system level

• Develop an understanding of regulatory compliance standards including ISO 13485, ISO 14971, 21 CFR Part 820

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Pursing a undergrad degree with previous internship experience in Software Quality, Quality Engineering, Software Engineering or related field of study

• Formal coursework or participation in a mentored AI project

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Coding in Python or R

The hourly rate for this role is $30. This is the rate that we in good faith believe is the rate of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
