Our Automotive Product Management team defines the strategy and supports product execution for innovative Software and Hardware that redefines vehicle sound including immersive audio and active sound management. With our innovative technology and world-class systems, every sound is more purposeful. The team is focused on defining new experiences and the platforms and enabling technologies critical to deploy these experiences to vehicles efficiently and effectively.
About the Job
We are looking for a passionate Software Platform Product Manager to join our Platform Product Management Team. This person will drive alignment with sales and engineering to create and execute a roadmap of SW platform capabilities needed to support new products and delivery models. This person will serve as the voice of the business and drive prioritization based on market trends, OEM needs, and competitive landscape and will ultimately own the financial performance of the software platforms.
As a Software Platform Product Manager, you will work cross-functionally to define and own the SW platform strategy through definition, launch, maintenance & support and end of life. In this role it is critical to partner with other product managers to ensure the platform capabilities support our overall product vision and to work closely with customer teams to ensure the platform capabilities are aligned with customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Define SW platform requirements and capabilities that advance the platform category strategy and deliver business value by working collaboratively with sales, marketing, engineering and partners
• Continuously evaluate internal and external factors to understand and articulate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for platform capabilities
• Work with engineering to create definitions for major platform increments that effectively support the platform vision and build business cases to demonstrate the financial viability of the platform
• Manage a backlog of minor platform increments to ensure platforms continue to be maintained and optimized for new product experiences and customer requirements
• Drive pricing/cost alignment to ensure platform work supports financial targets
• Maintain critical documents and tools used to ensure platforms capabilities are visible to and aligned with critical stakeholders
• Support customer engagements and new business pursuits for platform related matters including gathering critical information, supporting options analysis and influencing as needed to align with platform strategy
• Ensure platform needs are clearly represented in automotive processes and provide regular updates to key stakeholders on platform progress, challenges, and strategies
About You
Key Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• MBA or other advanced degree a plus
• 3+ years of SW product management experience
• Sound understanding of software architecture
• Automotive industry experience preferred
• Audio industry experience a plus
• Effective communicator with experience delivering presentations to customers and leadership
• Experience managing a SW product/platform from definition through end of life
• Strong financial acumen and experience with business case development
• Capable of effectively managing products in a matrix organization and driving results through indirect influencing
