Telesat is looking for an Integration and Test Engineer to work on the software applications that will control our new generation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. This is an exciting and fast-paced opportunity for a Junior Test Engineer with at least 2 years industry experience.
Main Responsibilities
- Gain deep understanding of the applications used to control the Telesat LEO constellation
- Develop, review, and execute test cases, with results stored in Zephyr
- Characterize product defects and report in Jira
- Work with development teams to seek solutions to bugs
- Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements.
Education and Experience Required
- 4-year B.Sc. in Computer Science or Bachelor’s in Engineering (or equivalent).
- at least 2 years industry experience.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows
- Hardware: Routers and Switches
- VMs: Kubernetes (POD) and Containers (Docker)
- Some knowledge of Network Protocols
- Traffic Generator such as Spirent / IXia, Test Center, tcpdump and iPerf
- Database: Postgres, MySQL,
- Networking: Strong understanding of OSI-Layer, TCP, UDP, IP networking, routing protocols, and network optimization.
- Design, configure, and maintain IP networks, VLANs, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), and security policies
- Implement and manage NETCONF and gNMIc for automated network device configuration.
- Develop and maintain YANG models
- gNOI for network operations, diagnostics, and state validation.
- Data Formats: Hands-on experience with JSON, JSON IETF, XML, and YAML, PROTO, and REST APIs for data exchange and automation workflows.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Python or Ansible for network automation. Kafka. CCNA or CCNP certification
