Maxar Intelligence is seeking a Software Engineering Manager of Business Systems team within Core Imagery Organization. Your Project: In this role you will Lead development and oversee the execution and delivery of all of our applications that provide ordering and statusing capabilities to our customers. You will work collaboratively with our technical delivery teams to ensure that the solutions meet the business need and align with the overall technical direction of the Business Systems team and Maxar as a whole. The work this role performs helps to bring our customers in the door and helps our customers to work with Maxar with ease. Without this group, Maxar would not be able to provide the excellent service required to support the needs of our high-profile clients in the space and satellite industry.

What you'll do day-to-day:

• Work with Product Management to prioritize, scope and plan business milestones.

• Build technical roadmaps to achieve business milestones.

• Foster a positive engineering culture in line with Maxar's values.

• Establish SLAs, governance processes, best practices and mitigation procedures across development lifecycle and sustainment for all API services

• Ensure your team has the people needed to be successful.

• Support timely delivery of engineering solutions to deliver business needs, while providing a transparent view to progress.

• Actively coach and mentor team members in their careers.

Minimum Requirements :

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

• 2 years of engineering management experience, or 2 years of proven tech leadership experience with the eagerness to take on more team building opportunities

• Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience with software engineering experience. (A Masters degree may count for 2 additional years of experience)

• Understands and has practiced agile software development and management

• Familiar with RESTful API design for developer audience

• Excellent grasp of software engineering principles, ability to guide and coach engineers

• Demonstrated design skills for large scale, performant, and highly available cloud services or distributed systems

• Has had exposure to multiple languages and frameworks as either an engineer or manager

• Comfortable managing team members with different skill sets and technical areas of focus and expertise

• Micro-service oriented architecture development experience and management

• A solid understanding of software development methodologies and practices (SDLC, Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.)

Preferred Requirements :

• Relational and Nonrelational databases
• Service Oriented Architectures
• Javascript/React/Angular experience.
• Software containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry)
• AWS Associate or Professional Certification
• Experience utilizing serverless software architectures
• Active DoD security clearance
• Demonstrated ability to drive cross team collaboration
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills

In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $120,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.

Additionally, this position is incentive eligible with a target based on contribution, company performance, and/or individual results achieved; the specific incentive plan and target amount will be determined based on the role and breadth of contributions.
