As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining our Identity and Audience Solutions products, including customer-facing UIs, APIs, services, and backend systems. Your team also design, build, and maintain our data systems that efficiently ingest, organize, and process large-scale data in our data warehouse. You will provide oversight, guidance, and foster a high-performing culture focused on delivering reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions.

You will….  

  • Manage, mentor, organize, and grow a high-performing team of software engineers.
  • Architect, develop and maintain data systems that ensure accurate, efficient, and scalable data delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, data science, and marketing, to define and implement strategies.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for design and data governance to ensure data consistency, quality, and compliance.
  • Work closely with exchange partners to ensure smooth integrations and optimize data delivery performance.
  • Drive improvements in the speed, accuracy, and scalability of data delivery processes.
  • Mentor and grow engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure that data delivery systems meet stringent SLAs for accuracy, timeliness, and availability.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in data management and audience targeting solutions.
  • Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and team performance to deliver high-impact solutions on schedule.

You have…

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering roles
  • 3+ years of experience in a management role
  • 5+ years of SQL experience (BigQuery preferred)
  • 5+ years of C# or Java experience
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
  • Great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Data Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

 Bonus points

  • Experience in the ad-tech industry or programmatic advertising
  • Expertise in data warehousing, big data technologies, and high-volume data systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms (ideally Google Cloud)
  • Experience with ETL pipelines, data modeling, and data integrations
  • Knowledge of data governance, data security, and privacy regulations
  • Experience in scaling large data solutions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience in agile development and project management
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Data warehouse architecture
    • Transactional database design and normalization
    • SQL query optimization
    • Domain-driven design and microservices architecture
    • Containerization and designing applications to horizontally scale
    • Message queueing and caching strategies
    • SOLID design principles and OOP design patterns

Compensation Package

  • The salary range for this position is $165,000- $200,000. Actual compensation may vary and will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and location.

Hybrid Workspace

Employees engage in a combination of remote and on-site work.

Our hybrid policy offers employees an office for when they want one. We have offices in New York and Reno, Nevada. Bombora also hosts annual Company-wide kickoffs in January, so employees get a chance to fly into our NY office to meet fellow Bommies.
